It has been a bit of a hectic weekend. Friday, I spent organizing (yet again) and trying to clean up my "Art Room". I have seriously outgrown the little bit of space I have - especially since it is also our guest room. I need to get rid of the sofa bed that's in there and have more drawers and shelves...Ah, maybe someday!
Anyway, all day Saturday I was at Scrapbook U in Frement taking a very fun technique class by Connie Andrews. We played with gesso, gel medium, tar gel, pumice gel, and diamond glaze in ways I haven't tried. We did all the techniques on watercolor tags with acrylic paints. It was a Golden Extravaganza! A few of the tags are pictured above. Connie is a lot of fun - a great teacher ,full of knowledge and very encouraging. I highly recommend you check out her classes if you're in Northern California Connie@isbjorn.com. Her blog address is on my list.
I also finished the tags for the "She..." swap that I'd previously mentioned. They're not due for about a month, so I may look for tea buttons or charms to add to the fibers. It's hard to see all the detail, but there are subtle background images of hearts, swirls, and teapots.
I need to work on my recipe swap and finish ALSBing the last 3 months worth of kits! Club Scrap will be starting their Pro Scrapbooking League in February. You sign up to make scrapbook pages for "credit/competition" - and prizes and discounts. Everyone is placed on a team and you have the opportunity to earn points for layouts using Club Scrap products. I participated during the summer and was able to complete all the elementary and middle school pages for both kids, as well as some miscellaneous events. They are also doing a cardmaking league along the same lines.
It's not too late to participate - contact me and ask me how!
